Does size always matter??

Watching one of my favorite shows this week "The View" made me realize how stupid some people can be. Why you ask, well I will tell you why. The ladies of The View had a guest by the name of Meghan McCain, yes the daughter of John McCain. Well not that I am a fan of hers, but she did make some good points. Meghan McCain was talking about her last visit and interview with Laura Ingraham on her radio show. Some how the political debate/interview turn into a personal attack on Meghan McCain's weight. Laura Ingraham ran out of insults towards Meghan and her father and said she was "too plus size." Meghan is not a thin, waif like girl, she has a little meat on her but I don't think I would call her plus size. WOW!!! when did calling some one plus size become an insult? If in fact you are overweight and have some extra meat on you, does calling you "plus size" make it a insult or a fact? I know I am plus size, that in no way offends me or insults me if some one calls me plus size. How does your weight impact your political views. So not only do you have to worry about what the fashion industry thinks, who is not "chunky friendly" , do you also have to worry that your vote is not good enough for DC because of your weight? Did McCain's defeat for president have anything to do with rumors/report of his wife being "too thin" and his daughter being "too plus size." Kinda makes you think how our society is so obsessed with weight and how your weight can over shadow any other accomplishments. Soon after the interview Meghan posted on her Twitter “To all the curvy girls out there, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about your body. I love my curves and you should love yours too.” So happy she responded with that and showed the world that no matter what any one says she is confident about her self and her body. Your weight or size does not take away your intelligence, skills, accomplishments or goals achieved. So to all you "plus size" women out there go out there do your thing and show the world your not going to hide. If someone is not OK with your size or weight, that is not your problem, because you are OK with your size.

Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my first entry of my blog Chunky Curlz. I have been wanting to create a blog for a while, but wanted to make sure I came up with a good concept and ideas to share with the world. After reviewing a few other blogs out there I did not want it to be a "hey look at me" kind of blog. Some people just want to show off everything to the world, with no substance or meaningful context. Well I want my blog to be meaningful, helpful as well as fun. I want to share ideas and thoughts about being a plus size women in world that doesn't always accept us or is too kind to us. I will share fashion finds, because I love to bargain shop. I will share websites and other retailers that are "chunky friendly." I also plan eventually set up a website where I will share with every one all the great deals I find when I'm out on my shopping excursions, passing on the savings to you. I will blog about being a confident plus size women, how to look good and feel good no matter what size you are. Being new to the blog world I will appreciate any comments or ideas you may have for me, but if you plan to just be mean and hateful, save it. I'm here to be positive and constructive, there is enough hatefulness out in cyber space. It amazes me how people love to be so mean and hateful when they are behind the anonymity of the Internet where no one knows who they are. So if that is your intent don't bother to leave your comments here, go start your own blog or find another place to spread your negativity. Thank You for reading my blog and look forward to sharing more with you.
