In-Vest-ment Pieces

Lane Bryant DKNY vest - Torrid lace top - Pure Energy distressed jeggings - Vigotti lace up boots

Yes another DKNY outfit, seems like me and Donna have been hanging out a lot lately.  When I first checked out the DKNY collection at Lane Bryant, this anorak vest caught my eye right away.  I knew it belonged in my closet and would be a great fall addition. The picute on the website didn't do it justice, it looks and feels so much better in person. I went to my local Lane Bryant and tried it on.  Yup it was love at first try, it felt very comfy and the quality is great too.  Very sturdy and thick, but not to heavy and with a hood, will be good for those rainy fall days. Decided to take it out for a spin Saturday night, it was a chilly fall night and we had a few sprinkles so the hood was great to have.  I paired the vest with 2 other new items, pure energy distressed jeggings, and Torrid lace tee both from the clearance section...you all know I love my clearance racks! Maybe I should rename this blog the Cid's Clearance File, seems like lots of my wardrobe comes from there.....LOL Well I don't look like I'm all clearance so I guess I am good!! Hey a girls got do make it work with what she's got. So its either spend full price and only buy 1 or 2 things, or be a bargain fashionista and have lots of cute stuff! I prefer the latter!

I have friends who hate to wait for things to go on sale or clearance so they pay full price for everything...makes them feel good about them selves. Well I feel great about my self in my bargain fashions! :)

So are you a bargain/clearance fashionista or a full price retail diva?

  1. i'm a little bit of both. i love saving money but when it's something i want and have to have it, there's no holding me back lol most of the time it's for sweaters, boots or purses (my weaknesses)

i also think there's also a distinct way of paying less for something but looking like a million bucks and i think that's where a lot of girls don't know how to style themselves. i'll see the cutest girls at forever 21 and they pick out the ugliest stuff cause it's "cheap" and i really hate that!

  2. i'm all about the bargain! shopping with my mother and grandmother has taught me to shop around.

i hate paying full price, unless that price is already pretty low, so I'm good at scoping out deals, checking out bargain stores, getting coupons, and going to stores on big sales days.

It's rare there's anything I want that I can't wait for it to go on sale, or for me to get some unexpected money.

One little problem though... if i see a really great price, even if I probably wouldn't have lusted over the item when it was full price, i have a bad habit of buying it. Usually this turns out surprisingly well, and that becomes one of my favourite items (a pair of shoes i now adore, haha), but sometimes I feel guilty for a long while.

But bargain all the way! I'm a student, I can't afford full price.

  3. i buy a lot of things on sale too! it's really the best place to buys clothes, especially trends, which go in and out of style frequently. plus, i don't make a lot of money (history degrees don't make cash, go figure, haha), so i feel better when i buy things on sale!

p.s. i love the way you styled this outfit. such great pieces put together!

  4. I like the vest and you're giving me some ideas for a lace top I have hanging in my closet dying to be worn. I always felt too dressy in it, but this looks perfect.

I think fashion requires the best of both worlds doesn't matter the price as long as you make it look good. Although sometimes I hate waiting for a sale since my size may not end up being available.
