Thankful, Grateful

Guess who's gonna be in the next City Chic Blogger Lookbook! ME ME! Thanks to all you lovely and awesome readers who voted by liking my picture.  Now the fun begins, City Chic is letting the bloggers choose another outfit and take new pictures for the next Lookbook.  Here are some of the items I'm thinking about choosing. Help me decide and let me know what you would like to see me wear.

Been wanting a denim skirt for a while now, but this may be too short or I'm too old to wear it!

Love the ruffles and color of this top, it can be worn with so many things

Leopard print sheer top, enough said!

Love the print on this dress and I think it can work for summer and even into the fall with tights and a cardi.

I really need some leopard print in my wardrobe, this dress will satisfy my craving.

Can you picture me wearing all these awesome clothes?  Well I won't get all of them, but need to choose at least 2. Which one gets your vote?

I am so thankful and grateful for all your support and help, my readers rock!

Life's A Picnic

Picnic outfit was simple, Old Navy Top, Denim shorts from Avenue and DVF Jelly Sandals, with Fedora to keep cool.

It's summer time, what better way to enjoy it than with a picnic!  On Saturday July 16, I enjoyed a picnic at Griffith park with a bunch of FAB fashion bloggers from LA.  Thanks to TwoPointOh!LA, and celebrating the groups 1st birthday! We enjoyed some yummy eats, DIY craft totes, a little beauty pampering in the park, fun photo booth and of course awesome swag.  I had lots of fun and got to chill with 2 other super cool curvy ladies, Reah Norman and Bree Cooley.   Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than fun, fashion and food.  So how was your weekend?

Thank you to TwoPointOh!LA for organizing the picnic and all the sponsors that made it possible.

It's In The Bag

Purses are like shoes, a woman can never have too many. RIGHT?

I love fashion in all forms, clothing, shoes, accessories and handbags. I especially love all types of purses, handbags, get the idea.  I have many bags in my collection, which for some reason always seem like not enough. How typical of me, to never have the right bag for the right outfit.   For the past year I have been craving, lusting and some what drooling over certain designers and styles of handbags.  One style I adore is the cross-body/messenger/satchel. I know they are all different and can probably find one of each style to buy.  But that's not really in the budget...So I have been looking for 1 style to satisfy my need and craving for all.  Doing my daily, umm weekly Internet window shopping I came across a few styles that are screaming my name.  Seriously I hear them saying "Cid, buy us, you need us and can't live with out us"  I swear that is what I heard...LOL

I think its time I put my self out of my misery and splurged.  Treat my self for all the hard work I have been doing in my 1st month at work! WOOHOO :)  So far these bags are the contenders, all under $300 so don't mind if I do!

Normally my cut off price is $150, but you know what?? I am so worth it and need a good quality bag that will last.  In my mind and rationale buying one of these higher priced (for me) bags will be like buying multiple lower prices bags...RIGHT!!!

All bags from Macy's and Nordstroms

The fun yet difficult task will be choosing JUST ONE, aye whats a girl to do! As of now I am leaning more towards the brown Fossil, gray Leibeskind or neutral RoccatellaI figured those are basic colors and styles that I can carry for all the season and quench my cravings for awhile.

Which bag would you choose?

Do you have a max amount of $ you would spend?  Or if you love it, you buy it no matter the price.

Lighten Up!

Hope all of my American readers had a wonderful 4th of July, as well as my other readers!  Busy weekend for me, did lots of things. I shopped a bit, caught a flix (Larry Crowne), ate at fave breakfast spot, BBQ with family and finally enjoyed some fireworks by the beach. Phew! I woke up exhausted and practically crawled out of bed. It was all worth it, but with the summer heat I made sure to stay cool and wore light clothes.  Lived in denim shorts and sandals all weekend.  I know many woman regardless of their size don't wear shorts for one reason or another. Its never been an issue for me, its HOT and my legs need some air & sun.  Damn can you see how white my legs are? LOL  I'm in desperate need of a tan, but sadly I only burn and turn red. Oh well I'm starting a new white pale skin trend. Who's In?  Really totally serious, after years of not being able to tan (refuse to spray tan or go to tanning salon) I said screw it! I'm pale and so what, not all Latinas are brown so I'm going with it! hee hee

~ CK Jeans Top: Nordstrom Rack ~ Denim Shorts: Avenue ~ DVF Jelly Sandals: Loehmanns ~

Nothing extremely special about this outfit but it kept me cool. Scored the DVF Jaya jelly sandals at Loehmanns for $15.  Can you believe they retailed for $75, like really they are plastic shoes! Oh yeah they are DVF that's why! LOL  Being a 80's child, these jelly sandals took me back to being a preteen in the late 80's and wearing them in all colors.  I couldn't resist, too cute and very comfy for jelly shoes.  Although the weather was HOT my feet did not get sweaty, big problem we had in the 80's.  Love the DVF love knot detail, gives them a more "sophisticated " look than the $5 jelly shoes I wore as kid.

So what do you think about the jelly shoe trend? It made a come back a year or two ago and many higher end designers are making their own versions (even Chanel). Have you or will you jelly?
