My Top 5: Lucky FABB

So I'll end Lucky FABB recaps with my top 5 favorite moments/people from the conference. It was a jam packed day starting at 8am, ending with a cocktail party and live performance from A Fine Frenzy at 8pm...talk about living & breathing fashion!  I loved it and here are my top 5 things from the conference.

1. Zac Posen: Zac was the first speaker early morning and gave us all great advice on pursing your dreams and goals in fashion. He said "The Internet has given you a voice and platform that isn't regulated...yet. Hold on to that as long as you can."  He shared his story on how he started in fashion and spoke very passionately about following your dreams!

2. Brandon Holley: (Lucky Editor in Chief) Quote of the day "I want to help you quit your day job." She repeated that through out the day, she wants all bloggers to quit their day jobs and blog full time. Oh how I wish, some bloggers are already doing this.  Some were not happy to her those words, some bloggers love their day jobs and blog for fun. Either way it was amusing to hear her  shout out "I want to help you quit your day job."  Maybe she will hire us all to blog for Lucky Magazine! :)

3. Panel How Brands Work With Blogs: Aimee Song from Song of Style response to not being compensated for her work. She said "There was an instance in which a brand wanted me to model, photograph and style clothes and put them on my blog, and they thought gifting me the item was enough," she said. "If a brand is willing to hire a photographer, a stylist and an editor for a shoot, than they should pay the same amount to bloggers" Yes, there were cheers for this response...some bloggers are earning top dollar, but some of us are not.  Blogging is not as easy as it seems and if you truly love doing it you want to be compensated for the hard work and hours spent blogging. Although Song of Style repeatedly said she has a day job and doesn't want to quit for blogging...LOL We shall see, as for me I don't have a day job so if any one wants to hire me to blog for them or their brand contact me via email! :D

4. The location: Annenberg Beach House, in Santa Monica. It was my first time there and it's gorgeous right on the beach. Although it took me 1.5 hrs to get there it was well worth the drive. Sadly the So Cal weather didn't cooperate and it was a cold and gloomy day. Other wise a perfect place for a blogger conference.

5. The bloggers:  As with every conference you are bound to meet some really great people and some not so great.  I am Lucky to always (for the most part) meet great ones.  I met 3 new (to me) blogs with great personalities.  We hit it off and hung out through all the conference...lots of laughs and drinks were had. These bloggers made the conference just so much better and those Lychee martinis were bomb!;)

Overall best conference I've attend all year...even if its the only blogger conference I attended this year.  I highly recommend you attend if you can, hoping to make it out to NYC in the fall!  Thanks for reading, your comments, thoughts and feedback is appreciated.

Showing My Spots

Quick post of my outfit from the actual conference (Lucky FABB).  I'm still sick and actually think I caught it from the conference.  Some other blogs have said they got sick right after conference too.  May be it was the weather, being right by the beach should have been awesome, but the day was really cold, cloudy and gloomy.  Oh well just wanted to share this outfit, going back to bed right after this.  Wore this dress from City Chic, which was sent to me months ago for their blogger lookbook.  I was part of the blogger lookbook, but didn't wear this dress until now.  It didn't fit me when I received it, but was embarrassed to return it. After losing a few pounds, it now fits greats.  I was really excited to wear this dress, after being in my closet for months.  I really didn't want to get rid of it and was determined to make it fit.

Pictures taken inside the beach house where Zappos had their lounge.  It was beautifully decorated and full of amazing items all from Zappos.com.

~ Dress: c/o City Chic ~ Moto Denim Jacket: Lane Bryant ~ Sandals: Kelsi Dagger via Loehmanns ~ Tote Bag: Betseyville~

Should have removed my badge for the picture, but oh well you get the idea.  What do you think?  Is leopard print still good for spring or should I hide this dress back in the closet?

Still have a recap post of conference pending, hoping to finish it up by tomorrow...Thank you for your comments and feedback, always appreciated! :)

Sunday FABB

This was my outfit on Sunday for the Lucky FABB brunch and shopping safari. Had lots of fun venturing into Santa Monica & Venice, 2 neighborhoods I don't visit much. Thank you to rewardStyle and HavetoHave for sponsoring these 2 fun-tastic events. I'm hoping to make it out to next years Lucky FABB conference. If your a fashion/beauty blogger and would like to attend FABB next year sign up for the mailing list (here) as this conference is by invitation only.

WOW looks like I'm on vacation some where nice!

Schorching Style made me do it! LOL
Totally pretending someone said something funny....ha ha ha
~Hi/Lo Maxi: LYS via Kmart ~ Sheer Top: LYS ~ Shoes: Betsey Johnson ~ Bag: Ross ~ Necklaces: Avenue

I wanted to try the hi/lo trend, this dress was just the right piece.  I really liked the ruffle at hem and print, which isn't too overwhelming.  I added some color with the sheer blue top, instead of wearing a cardigan or jacket to cover up a bit and the pop of pink in my shoes.  What do you think of my outfit?

P.S. Thanks to my new blogger friend Scorching Style for taking these outfit pics.

I was introduced to Jellypop Shoes at Lucky FABB conference.  Have to admit never heard of them before, but now I'm obsessed.  Jellypop had a booth at conference, where you could try on their shoes and then do a little video.  It was one of the cutest things ever, it's a little silly but I love it...LOL Take a look at the video below to see one of the shoes I tried on.
