Recently the lovely ladies from Sonsi sent me a dress to review. What girl doesn't love a new dress right! I wasn't sure what to expect, all I knew it was a dress from the New Fuerza Collection designed by plus size model Rosie Mercado. I had met Rosie a few years ago in Las Vegas when she was just starting her modeling career. To see her now have a clothing line with SWAK and a successful reality show is inspiring. I received the Paris maxi dress in teal. When I first received the dress, I was unsure if it was the right choice for me. I am normally not the type to dress up and be too girly. I thought this dress might be too girly for me. I gave the dress a chance and glad I did, it's a great dress. The dress is a maxi style dress with a sheer panel on chest area and flowy sheer skirt. The dress is light and airy, great for the summer. I really loved the color of the dress and quality was impressive. The only fault is the size of dress, it fit me a bit big in the chest area and probably should have sized down. A smaller size would fit snugger around my chest area and give it a better look. Other than that the dress is great for many occasions and can easily be dressed up or down for a more casual look.
I wore the dress to a my nieces going away party, she had a tea party theme. I thought the dress would go well with her theme. It was a nice warm summer day and the dress kept me cool and looking cute, at least that's what I was told. The Paris maxi dress would work great for a garden wedding or date night with my boo. I am happy the dress worked out well for me, and also received many compliments wearing it.
I paired the dress with a crochet shrug and purple belt to give it a pop of color. Like I mentioned the dress fit a bit big around my chest area so the shrug covered up the gaping in the arms. I wore my studded sandals to give it a bit more edgy look and not look to girly, cuz you know that isn't me. I was happy with the look and the dress overall, the Paris maxi also comes in black and fuchsia. For more looks from the Fuerza Collection check out Sonsi here.
Congrats to Roise Mercado on her clothing line and success. I am so glad to see more role models that represent the curvy Latina woman, like me.
