Good Eats at Anaheim Packing House

It's official summer is here and at Cid Style File we love to try new things and visit new places. There is much more to life than just fashion...Gasp! Yes fashion is my first love but a girl can't live on fashion alone. I like to eat and enjoy new experiences all over my city.  On May 31, 2014 was the grand opening of the Anaheim Packing House in downtown Anaheim on the corner of Anaheim Blvd and Santa Ana Street.  We have been anticipating the opening since we moved to Anaheim over a year and half ago. Living only a block away, we have been monitoring the progress of this renovation. This was the original orange packing house in Anaheim since 1919 and has now been re-imagined into a food hall and market place. The original building has been preserved and renovated into a beautiful rustic community gathering spot, with lots of great eateries.

Here is my video on grand opening day, exploring the packing house and discovering all the good eats. If you live in OC/LA area or planning to visit, you need to check out this place.  It's reminiscence of Chelsea Market in NYC or Pike Market in Seattle, with California vibe.

If you enjoy my video, don't forget to give it a "thumps up" and share it!  Also make sure your subscribed to my channel and get updated when new videos are uploaded.

4 Double Duty: Multi-Use Bellaza Products

Las Fabulosas: Beauty & Style

Double Duty: Multi-Use Belleza Products

By Lauren Fischer for Las Fabulosas

While you’re spring cleaning -- your makeup bag, of course -- save yourself time and money with beauty products that work double-duty. These must-have belleza products will get you gorgeous in more ways than one.

Beauty Balm
All the rage in beauty products, BB creams improve the appearance of skin with moisturizing, blemish control and anti-aging ingredients, while also serving as a foundation. “Beauty balm helps my foundation last all day,” says makeup artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis, who has worked with Kerry Washington and Kim Kardashian. “When my skin gets a little dewy, I pat a little on the dewy area for a matte finish.” BB cream is also available for hair, to provide shine, frizz control and damage protection.
Try: Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream for a lightweight finish for the face and Pantene BB Crème for hair for healthy protection and shine.

Cosmetics With SPF
Make your makeup work overtime by looking for products with an SPF of at least 10 -- essential for sun protection. Most skin care and beauty products are available with an SPF formula for a variety of skin tones. And don’t forget your vulnerable locks -- hair products with SPF will help you avoid heat damage and discoloration.
Try: Covergirl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Liquid Makeup for full coverage plus sun protection.

Bronzer
Bronzers do more than enhance cheek color. “I love to use bronzer as an eye shadow, blush and highlighter,” says Gomez-Duplessis. Or, sweep along décolletage and even leg muscles for definition.
Try: Max Factor’s bronzing powder for an effortless fresh finish.

Lip and Cheek Tint
Gone are the days when a separate product for each facial feature was necessary. Instead, invest in a lip/cheek tint that gives a naturally flushed appearance. Some creamy lip glosses can also be dabbed on eyes for light color.
Try: Benefit benetint stain, for a lasting rosy color.

#MyVegasStyle Challenge at Aria Resort and Casino

Ah Vegas how I love thee...It really is one of my favorite cities to visit. Lucky for me Las Vegas is a short 4 hour drive from California.  I know most people like to fly in from California, but the drive is nice and scenic through the dessert.  I like to drive and just soak it all in, plus if I fly into Vegas that means less shopping.  Hello why else would I go to Vegas!! Yes, shopping is one of the main attractions in for Vegas, well for me any how.  So I need all the trunk space for all my packages.  There is so much more to Las Vegas other than gambling in the casinos.  I was invited to join in a Vegas style challenge from Vegas.com and Aria Resort and Casino.

The challenge is show my style transitioning through out the day while enjoying a stay at the Aria hotel.   The Aria is located right in the center of the Las Vegas Strip and is one the newest luxury resorts in Vegas.

Here are three different looks I would wear during my stay at the Aria.

Shopping In Vegas by cidstylefile

One of my favorite things to do in general is shopping, but shopping in Vegas is on a whole different level.  The Aria is located right next door to The Crystals, a shopping and entertainment complex.  This is probably one of the most architecturally beautiful malls I have ever seen. Not only is it stunning to look at but it really has all the best high end retailers in the world.  I would spend my afternoon shopping, (mostly window shopping) and enjoying the beautiful environment. Have some lunch and coffee and get my first day started. Since visiting Vegas involves lot of walking, I'd make sure to have some comfy shoes. So I went a pair of "Birk" like sandals, pair of white jeans and kimono to keep cool in the hot Vegas weather. Add some cool sunglasses and minimal jewelry, like a "LA" necklace to represent my hometown. So what do you think of my shopping outfit.

Lounging, Poolside, Liquid Pool, las vegas, aria hotel, denise bidot, summer, my vegas style

You can't go to Vegas and not spend some time by the pool. That's one of my other favorite things to do in Vegas, lounging by the pool sipping on a fruity drink!! Aria Hotel has the Liquid Pool Lounge, a perfect spot to just take in some sun and relax after a long day of shopping. I am not much of a swimmer so most likely my time will be spent laying by the pool, with a drink and a magazine. I'd wear a cover up like this dress, with a swimsuit underneath just in case I get tempted to go for a dip in the pool. A pair of cute sandals, with sunnies and a straw hat to protect me from the sun. Don't forget a tote bag to carry all your things down to the pool. What do you think of my poolside outfit?

Cirque du Soleil, las vegas, zarkana, aria hotel, vegas shows, nightlife, my vegas style, cid style file,

The Aria is home to Zarkana one of many Cirque du Soleil, shows in Vegas. Going to a show in Vegas is a must, there are hundreds of shows nightly and Cirque du Soleil shows are the best in town. After a nice dinner at Lemongrass, we would head off to the show. I'd wear a nice but simple dress, add some fun accessories with a clutch and earrings. Smokey eye with a subtle lipstick shade and my signature fragrance. You never know if you might be in the mood to head out to a club after the show, so your outfit should be ready for anything Vega has to offer.

Which outfit did you like best?
What is your favorite thing to do in Vegas?

Citadel Outlet - LA's Premier Outlet Shopping Destination

Outlet shopping is always a great way to find your favorite designer items at major savings.  I am a huge fan of outlet shopping, and having one only a short drive away from home can be dangerous!!! Last week I was invited to LA's only outlet shopping center, Citadel Outlet in the City of Commerce, CA for a VIP event.

citadel outlet, store, directory, los angeles, shopping,

The Citadel Outlet has been around for many years, opening up to the public in 1990.  Formerly it was home to Uniroyal Tires and started off as tire & rubber company in 1930.  If you are a LA native like me, then you are no stranger to the Citadel building. It's a huge building right off the 5 freeway in the City of Commerce, CA resembling an Assyrian Palace.  Growing up we just called it the castle.  Now its LA's premier outlet shopping destination.  Honestly I had not been there in a few years, because truly the stores were not too appealing and the parking was horrible.  All that has changed with the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation and hundred thousands of square footage in retail space. Along with additional dozens of stores, and a new parking structure which can accommodate up to 501 cars.

shopping, citadel outlet, michael kors, calvin klein, guess, los angeles, fashion, bargains,

I was very pleasantly surprised how nice the Citadel looks now and all the top-name retail stores available. The parking was a breeze, since they also offer valet parking for a mere $5 and is located a short walk away from the shops.

We were also given a tour of the Citadel VIP Lounge, where the elite shoppers can enjoy a luxury area to rest and relax from all the shopping.  Some of the special VIP Lounge features include, free Wi-Fi, storage for  your bags and luggage, TV's, complimentary beverages and light snacks.  It really is a nice and special touch for VIP shoppers with concierge services included for out of town guest.

coach, handbags, citadel outlet, shopping, fashion, los angeles, leather,

With many great stores recently added, it makes this a must stop shopping destination.  All the stores are nicely stocked and brightly lit.  I made my rounds and visited a few of my favorites, the staff are very nice and friendly.  The list of stores is too many to list but you can go here to see the entire directory.

The Citadel also a offers a VIP Savings Card, where selected retailers will give cardholders additional savings.  On your next visit to the Citadel Outlet make sure to get yours at the Customer Service Center. You know I got my VIP card, since I am the queen of bargain shopping!

So have I convinced you to go visit the Citadel Outlet? Well here is a little more motivation, with the Outlet Express Shuttle. Yup, there is a shuttle that will take you to Citadel Outlets from various hotels in Anaheim. You can sit back and enjoy the ride, saving your energy for all the awesome shopping.  No need to worry about traffic, for $16 round trip you can leave the driving to someone else. This is especially convenient for tourist or the holiday season, which I plan to take advantage of for my holiday shopping.  Want more info on pick up locations and times go here

Thank you to the Citadel Outlet staff for a great day.  It was nice to get the VIP treatment and learn about all the new renovations.  I will definitely be returning to Citadel Outlet for my shopping needs.  You know I can never pass up a good shopping adventure!

Have you visited the Citadel Outlet lately?  What is your favorite outlet store to shop?

Enjoy The World Cup With Style

The FIFA World Cup officially begins June 12, 2014. The entire world will be watching and every country will be celebrating. The World Cup is one of the most popular sporting events in the Universe.  So all eyes will be on the games, I am sure many will be having viewing parties too.  Being a fashionista you can't let a sporting event ruin your style.  You may love the sport and want to show your pride for your country or team and still look fashionably cute doing so.  With the help of a few key pieces you can rock your team pride and still look stylish, with out having to wear a typical sports jersey.  Here are a few ideas to help you keep up your "fashionista" status and enjoy a good match of Futbol with style!

I am a proud American, so you bet I will be cheering for my Red, White and Blue Team USA.  We are known to have more casual relaxed style, especially in California.  With summer approaching, I can bet many a BBQ will be held to watch Team USA play.  A cute pair of denim shorts with a USA Flag tank will keep you cool, casual and cute. Add a pair of Team USA Havaianas to show off that awesome pedicure inspired by your team. Using some Nails Inc Gel Effect polish will ensure your nails will be looking great through the entire World Cup. Add a little fragrance like Ralph Lauren Blue Sport, yup its for men, but I have been known to wear men's cologne...why not it smells good and will remind you of the hot soccer players. Don't forget a cool pair of sunglasses to finish off the look and to keep you cool during those heated moments in the game, try a Instant Cooling Towel.  GO TEAM USA!!

Being a proud Latina I can't leave out Team Mexico.  Having Mexican roots and parents, I will also be cheering for Team Mexico in the World Cup.  Most of my family will be proudly displaying their Green, White and Red. With out being typical and wearing a sombrero or sarape to represent our Mexican pride, here is a cute way to show some Team Mexico spirit. Try a long flowy maxi dress in red, paired with Team Mexico Havaianas flip flops. A southwest print scarf in case it gets cool in the evenings, with a woven straw bag to hold all your girly stuff.  Latina woman are known to be sexy and bold, so make sure to go with a bright and bold lip color. Try using Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Liner in Bang to make sure your lip color stays on all day.  When Team Mexico makes that "golazo" you have to celebrate with a shot of Tequila. My choice is Avion Espresso Liqueur which combines espresso coffee with tequila. Now that's the way you celebrate! Viva Mexico!!

Let's not forget about the host country Brazil, who is probably the most fanatical about soccer.  You can't deny that Brazilians are passionate people, this comes through in the music and sports.   When I think about Brazil 2 major things come to mind, soccer and Hello Rio Carnaval!  So to honor and celebrate Brazil you need to shine and be bright.  A cute yellow sundress can add the right touch to brighten up your outfit. Don't forget your Brasil Havaianas sandals, chances are if Brazil wins a match, there will be dancing to celebrate. A bright statement necklace to add pops of color.  The make up has to shine, add bold color eye shadow with Urban Decay Shadow in Kush, and throw in some sparkle with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter. You can add it to the eye shadow or on your body to spakle up the game, dancing every time Team Brazil makes that goal! Finish off the outfit with a black and white stripe tote (just like a soccer ball) to carry around your Vita Coco water, after all the dancing and excitement of the game you will need to hydrate.

Will you be watching The World Cup? What team are you excited to watch and cheer for in style?

Style Report: Birks Are Back

Hippies wear them, old ladies wear them and now fashionistas wear them too. Yup those ugly, yet comfy sandals are back. The Birkenstocks have made a come back and now are cool and trendy.  You know when a high end designer like Givenchy and Celine makes a pair of "ugly" sandals they will be hot and trendy.  All the cool kids will be wearing them.  Nothing beats the original Birkenstocks but a few other designer and brands have designed their own version of "ugly' sandals.  I know some of you may be thinking these sandals are too ugly and you wouldn't wear them. I thought the same thing, but like the old saying goes "Never Say Never".  I need a pair of "ugly" sandals to get me through the summer.

Here are a few styles to help you get on trend this summer.

ugly sandals, birkenstocks, summer, trend, asos, sam eldman, zara, target, birks,

I am particularly loving #6 and #9, but #8 is a more sensible option from Target.

Are you loving or hating this trend? Have you ever own a pair of 'ugly" sandals?

Find The Best Bag For Your Personality

Life & Beauty Weekly: Life & Love

Purse Matchmaker: Find the Best Bag for Your Personality

By Michele Meyer for Life & Beauty Weekly

You never outgrow them. They never pinch your feet. No wonder most women love to “bag” a new purse each season. No matter what your style or needs, there’s a purse that’s just right for you. Better yet, for every pricey “It” bag, there’s an affordable knockoff near you at fast-fashion fixtures like H&M, Zara, Forever 21 and Uniqlo. Check your “purse”-onality below to find your perfect fit!

Personality: Fun and Easygoing

Your bag: Pouch
This relaxed version of a strapless silhouette has become 2014’s most coveted bag. The relaxed frame suits this year’s upscale sweatshirts, track pants and sneakers. Gotta have it? Lanvin’s gold and blue “paper bags” are spring’s must-haves, while Dries Van Noten’s kaleidoscope-patched soft envelope pouches will make fad followers drool come fall.

Personality: Flexible and Ready for Anything

Your bag: Tote
Call this the SUV of carry-alls. Totes are practical, roomy and perfect for moms and travelers -- especially if they have outer pockets or inner compartments, which save you from digging around in search of your keys. This year’s totes include fun furry styles from Marc Jacobs and Fendi -- but if you opt for that look, be sure to streamline the rest of your outfit or you may be mistaken for a Muppet.

Personality: Unpretentious and Earthy

Your bag: Hobo
Perfect for hippies and cowgirls, these bohemian bags feature slouchy posture, scooped center, long shoulder strap and zipper closures. Add fringe or tassels, and you look ready to head into the sunset. The hobo’s cousin is the bucket bag, named for its shape. Our fave source is eBay, where you may be able to snag a vintage Coach hobo for a song.

Personality: Practical and Organized

Your bag: Saddlebag
Perfect for work and play, saddlebags typically have outside pockets that make it easy to find your smartphone and keys, plus top and side compartments with buckled flaps provide extra organization. Barbour makes stylishly earthy versions of this highly practical purse.

Personality: Elegant and Sophisticated

Your bag: Clutch
They’re not just for evening gowns anymore: These small, simple bags have become a daytime “do” in the last couple of years. Choose one with a loop that you can hang around your wrist to free your hands -- perfect for navigating buffets. Need to carry more than just your lipstick? Go for a larger version with pointed flaps, known as an envelope. We’re expecting 2014’s lust object to be Salvatore Ferragamo’s hard case.

Personality: Retro and Classy

Your bag: Handlebag
This top-clasp, hard-sided purse is perfect for pencil skirts, nipped jackets and other ladylike fashions that evoke the ‘40s and ‘50s. Huge, round-top, hard-sided versions are called doctor’s bags -- a nod to their inspiration. Christian Dior’s yellow or red bags for next fall are gorgeous, but if you go vintage, you might be able to afford Louis Vuitton and Hermès versions. Better yet, ask your mom or grandmother if you can raid her closet!

Personality: Always On-the-go

Your bag: Messenger
Whether you’re dashing about the city or hitting the club, you’ll want this carry-all bag by your side. Smaller versions hold the essentials, while larger versions can take on anything you care to stuff inside. Best of all, we adore the ones we’ve spotted at Kohl’s and J.C. Penny!
