Whoa can't believe this is the third week of #UntamedStyle. This month has turned out to a bit busy and its finally starting to heat up. We are in full summer mode in California, June Gloom is starting to dissipate. The weathers been heating up so its time to bring out the summer wardrobe. Being a California girl, summer wardrobe basically means shorts, tees and sandals. Its almost like a uniform, especially when you live closer to the ocean. California style is very relaxed, we all love to be comfy, keep cool and chill. That's exactly what I had in mind with this outfit, nothing but cool hippie vibes. I'll keep it short this week since I know many of you, including self tend to get busy in the summer months. Lets jump right in to this weeks #UntamedStyle Summer Look.
This week I've been running around with family for birthdays, graduations and celebrating Fathers Day. I almost forgot to take pictures for this weeks post! OH NO! I made sure to take some time out for a little photo session. Good thing I'm tight with my photographer and he's available when I need him!
Lately I've been noticing some of the trends looking very familiar to me. The other day at Starbucks the barista was wearing a choker and I asked her where she bought it. I kinda giggled because it looked just like a choker I wore in high school back in the 90's. There are a few other styles that are making a come back from the 90's that I wore and its making me feel old! Well I guess every generation feels the same way when they see a trend or style make a come back. Seems like fashion recycles it self about every 20-25 years.
I decided to relive some of my teen years with this outfit. I actually still have a choker from my collage days and dug it out of the crates. I had these Levi's Capri jeans, which I cut into shorts from a few years ago as well. Paired with some Teva sandals I recently bought. I felt a little hippie-ish, which is the style we wore in the 90's, the 70's look was popular. Isn't it funny how each generation has a style they identify with. I was born in the 70's and when I was a teen loved the hippie, peace, love and flowers style. Now the kids who were born in the 90's are recreating the style from the 90's. I love how trends come back and each generation makes it their own, with different interpretations of each style. Makes wish I had saved some of my clothes, shoes and other items from high school and collage. Well I may just have to buy a few new items to save for the next time these trends become popular.
