San Francisco Days - #UntamedStyle Linkup

I left my heart in San Francisco and can't wait to go back!  Last weekend I spent a few wonderful days in San Francisco and I am still trying to recover.  My trip was short, but we managed to fit in so many fun activities and a short visit with my beautiful nieces.  This cutie here is going to college in San Francisco, I had promised to go visit her while she's in school.  My scheduled finally allowed me take a trip to San Francisco.  I have so much to share and give you a proper travel blog post.  Today just sharing a quick blog on what I wore for a rainy, chilly and windy San Francisco.

As most people do before traveling, we tracked the weather for our time in San Francisco.  The weather app said rain, rain and more rain for our entire visit.  I made sure to go prepared with proper attire, shoes and umbrella. Living in a state with a drought, we are not use to getting much rain.  I really didn't know what to pack and how to handle traveling to a rainy city. I didn't want to buy any special clothes or shoes for a short trip.  Again I went into my closet to shop and find some weather appropriate gear.  Luckily the weather gods hear my cries, the weather turned out great and we had little rain. It was still a bit chilly and windy so my outfit worked out great!

I have been to San Francisco a few times before during this time of year and knew the weather would be chilly and cooler. The weather in San Francisco can change on a dime and sometimes is unexpected. I wanted to be prepared for any kind of weather with out having to pack too many outfits.  I carefully planned my outfits for the activities planned and weather predicted.  Lots of walking was involved and outdoor sightseeing. Comfy shoes and layers for changes in weather are a must.  I found a pair of hiking boots in my closet, brand new in the box and unused. This boots worked out perfectly for all the walking we did and rainy weather. Now that my hiking boots have been broken in, I can actually use them to go hiking! I also used this Ava and Viv Anorak Jacket which is waterproof.  This jacket worked great for the rain and wind. Layered thermal and sweaters underneath to keep warm.  My fave Levi's jeggings for comfort and Betsey Johnson backpack to carry all my gear.  I found a backpack is an essential for city living and traveling. Every one in San Francisco carries a backpack, its so convenient to maneuver around the city .

Here are 5 of my favorite looks from last weeks linkup

I am loving this look from Jodie of Jodie's Touch of Style. The yellow sleeveless trench coat is so fab with a modern twist on a traditional coat.  She looks so chic with her hats and tall boots!
Jessica of Jeans and A Teacup, this look is cool and stylish for fall. I love the detail in her skirt and how she paired it with camel color cardigan to break up the black.

Cindy from I Am Priiincesss looks stunning her this monochromatic red outfit. I love how she has that pop of color with the white hat....so chic!

Jennie from A Pocketful of Polkadots looks so comfy and cozy, 2 things I strive for in fall outfits. I love her patchwork boots and the long sweater vest she paired with her dress.

How amazing is this dress Chichi from The Style Tune is wearing. She is wearing a traditional Indian dress for Diwali. I love the embroidery and colors of her dress...just gorgeous!
