Working With The Basics From Avenue

When it comes to fashion, sometimes there's nothing better than basic pieces you can remix. As a fashion blogger I feel basic pieces get over looked for the trendy and more elaborate clothing items. I live in jeans with simple tees and blouses. Basic clothing doesn't have to be boring and can absolutely look stylish. Today I am featuring some basic wardrobe pieces courtesy of Avenue, jeans with a striped top that can be simple and comfortable yet stylish and fun. 

Avenue has been a go to retailer with great basic pieces for many years. Just like basics get over looked in fashion, I think Avenue has gotten over looked as well. Many years ago when the plus fashion choices were limited, Avenue was my go to place.  I could always find a cute top, jeans and camisoles along with great accessories at Avenue.  They have many great choices for all styles and occasions. I recently got to revisit Avenue and am loving what they have to offer recently.

Last month I featured knee high, wide calf boots from Avenue, you can take a look here.  Today lets talk jeans and stripes.  I found these cute jeans from Avenue, with the best details. I love these distressed jeans with the slit hem which makes them feel more stylish. The frayed hem gives a special touch as well and looks good with any type of shoe. I also love this striped peplum top, with the ruffle 3/4 sleeve. Adding these kind of details to jeans and a basic stripe top gives them a more fashionable look. The jeans and top are super soft, they both feel and look great. The top can also be worn off the shoulder because of the stretchy elastic around the neck. I do find some items from Avenue to run a little big and roomy so depending on the fit you desire, you may need to size down. The jeans fit me great, not too tight or loose. However the top did fit me bit looser than I liked and probably should have sized down.
