Twitter Party Time Tips for Luminous Skin #MujerDove

*Sponsored Post*

Now that the colder months are here, do you still shave your underarms?  It’s not something I think about really, but yes I still do shave.   The process of shaving can reduce the top layer of skin by 20%, leaving the skin sensitive and exposed to chafing or dryness. Dove Clear Tone nourishes your skin and soothes irritation. Along with all the Dove Clear Tone deodorants, Dove Clear Tone Pink Rosa is designed to reduce red and dark marks caused by shaving and it leaves underarm skin more even-looking in just two weeks. As a perk, Pink Rosa has a floral and fruity rose and raspberry blossom scent.

Want to learn more tips about having luminous skin; join me and other Latina Bloggers in a special twitter chat on Tuesday 10/29/13.  I am one of 20 Latina bloggers selected in partnership with Dove Clear Tone Anti-Perspirant who will participate in a special campaign.  Tomorrow 10/29/13 @5pm PST, I will be participating in a twitter chat, learning tips to have luminous skin with Dr. Barba.  Come join the twitter party by following hash tag #MujerDove, prizes will also be given out.  Three winners will be selected to receive a $75 SpaFinder gift card and Dove ClearTone products.  For more details and to RSVP to the Dove ClearTone Twitter party click here.  There is also a pre-twitter party giveaway for those who RSVP and tweet about chat.  Prizes include a $25 gift card  for up to 4 winners.

Torrid Holiday Collection 2013

Last week I was invited to attend the Torrid Holiday Collection preview.   I headed to the Torrid HQ for an afternoon fashion show along with other fashion bloggers from So Cal.   The show was lead by Curvy Girls Lornalitz and all the models were Torrid employees.  After the show we were treated to champagne and yummy treats, as well as being able to try on some of the clothes seen on the runway. These items are not yet for sale and will be in stores mid November.  It was exciting to see all the lovely employees model the clothes.  There were lots of jewel tones, cobalt blue, emerald green, purple and ruby red. Cozy sweaters, blazers, jackets, leggings and of course jeans made there way down the runway.  Some cute dresses and sparkly items as well for all those holiday parties and special nights.  I am sure you will find something you love from this collection.  I already have my eye on a few items and can't wait to get my hands on them for the holidays.

Below are some of the models and their looks.  I took tons of pictures but these were the best ones. Its not as easy as you think to snap a good picture of a model coming down the runway.  Especially when all you have is your iPhone...Enjoy!

Latina Magazine & Covergirl Hollywood Hot List

Earlier this month I attended the Latina Hollywood Hot List party to celebrate all the HOT Latinos in Hollywood.  I was invited by Covergirl, who sponsored this fabulous party.   I never miss a Latina Magazine/Covergirl party, they are always fabulous and have the best of food, drinks and celebs.

The party was held in Hollywood at the Redbury hotel, complete with red carpet arrivals and signature drinks by Baileys.  The room was full of Latino celebrities like Ana Ortiz from Devious Maids, Aimee Garcia from Dexter, Covergirl Becky G and Latina Magazines October covergirl Naya Rivera from Glee. My self and many other Latina bloggers were in attendance courtesy of Covergirl. We also got treated to some really yummy sushi from Katsuya which is across the street from hotel and lots of delish desserts. Covergirl had makeup stations where you could get your face refreshed by pro MUA like Artemis who is pictured below. The night was lots of fun and Latina/Covergirl parties never disappoint.

This is what I wore to the party, a babydoll dress from Fashion To Figure, a plus size store from the east coast.  They don't have any shops out here in California, but I got the dress online.  I have known about this shop for a while now, but this is my first item purchased from FTF.  The fit is great and was true to size, I received lots of compliments on this dress during the party.   I will be definitely getting more things from FTF, they have lots of cute stuff and very affordable prices.

Purple Purses Can Make A Difference

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and The Allstate Foundation.

Did you know October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month? I had no idea, since domestic violence is not a commonly talked about subject. The statics are astonishing and we should all be talking about it. I was asked to participate in The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Project. This project was started 3 years ago by Allstate to raise money and bring awareness to domestic violence in the US.

Domestic Violence affects 1 in 4 women, which is more than breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer combined. Yet no one is talking about it, but today we can all do our part to make a difference and help out those woman and children affected. You don’t have to be a victim or suffered some type of domestic violence to participate. It’s very easy and doesn't cost you a thing…it all starts with a Purple Purse. I was sent a cute little Purple Purse to share and pass along to other women. Inside the purse is a code you enter at and every time a code is entered The Allstate Foundation will donate $5 to YWCA up to $350,000 can be earned for programs aimed to help domestic violence survivors stop the cycle of abuse.

A majority of Americans agree that domestic violence is tough to talk about. More than one-third of Americans have never discussed the issue with family or friends and Purple Purse provides a conversation starter. I know it’s not something ever discussed with my family or friends. Although I have never personally been a victim of domestic violence, I know woman who have been and sadly witnessed someone being abused as a child. The memory of this woman being hit by her boyfriend is forever ingrained in my memory. As a child I didn't understand why this was happening and couldn't do anything about it. Now we can all help with The Purple Purse Project.

Not everyone will be able to get the actual Purple Purse, but I have a virtual purple purse to share with all my readers. Take this code 0003, enter it at and every time you do $5 will be donated to YWCA until the end of October. It really doesn't get any easier than this and a simple gesture can help many woman and children who are or have been victims of domestic violence.

Let's Defeat Cancer, We're Stronger Together

*Sponsored Post*

October is breast cancer awareness month and every year The Estee Lauder Companies launches several products for sale to raise awareness and money. The theme of this years Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is, "Let's Defeat Cancer, We're Stronger Together".  I think many of us probably know someone who's been affected by breast cancer.  It affects millions of woman, of all ages and races. I lost a cousin and friend to breast cancer, and have seen it first hand.  This years campaign aims to use a unique social experience and invites woman, men and families from all over the world to build Circles of Strengthens.

Starting October 1, 2013 the Estee Lauder Companies launched it's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, which includes 15 brands selling specially branded pink products for this campaign.  The purchase of these products in the month of October will help fund and support education and research by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.   In 1993 Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder started the foundation and is co-creator of the Pink Ribbon, made it a mission to defeat breast cancer.

Here are some of my favorite items from the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Clinique Pink with a Purpose ~ Almost Lipstick in Pink Ribbon Honey
$15 for bag and lipstick, $3 of each sale goes to BCRF
Estee Lauder Pink Ribbon Pin $12.50 and 20% goes to foundation
I am wearing this pink ribbon all month in honor of my friend & cousin who lost their battle with breast cancer.
French Pink Set ~ Limited Edition Blush & Mini Brush $45 and $10 goes to foundation

For the full list of products and brands go here.
All these products are things we love and already buy anyways. We can all make a difference with every purchase.  You can also donate directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation here. Together we are stronger and can make a difference, with hopes to one day see a cure for cancer with in our lifetime.
