Pink Snake

One thing about living in So Cal is the weather can be fantastic.  This past weekend we had gorgeous weather and it hit 80's degrees (yes I know its still winter).  Yet today and for the rest of the week it's going to RAIN!  If you not from Southern California then you don't understand how rain completely causes chaos.  We for some reason can't drive in the rain and traffic gets worse than it already is...Yes I know sounds ridiculous.  So its back to winter outfits and wearing boots and sweaters.  I had a glimpse of spring for few days and was even able to wear sandals.  Pedicure or not I had to take advantage and let me feet breath from weeks of wearing Uggs.  It was just too beautiful not go out and enjoy the glorious weather.  It even gave me short lapse in judgement to wear pink.  I don't do pink, ever!!!   Well what can I say we all can have a change of heart once in a while.  I wore this pink sheer top and snake print jeans, scored from right before the holiday on super clearance.  Pink and snake skin are not usual combinations I would wear.  Lets just say a little sunshine and warm weather will bring out another side of my personality.  Now I can't wait for spring to wear lots more pink.  OK lets not over do it with the pink, but I can add a little bit to my wardrobe once in while.

Enjoying the awesome sunshine in the OC. Yes that OC like the show!

Is there a color you said you would never, ever wear?  What are you favorite colors to wear?

Beauty Pageant Frenzy!

This weekend I had the pleasure to be part of the California Miss Plus America Pageant.   No I wasn't a contestant,  just attended the finals in Anaheim, CA.   My buddy Monique from Curves and Chaos was a judge for the pageant and invited me to see her in action.  It was an interesting experience and so nice to see all the beautiful curvy ladies in their gowns.  I hadn't plan to attend originally so did not have a outfit prepared for this event.  I literally came up with my outfit with in an hour, had to work with what I had clean in my closet.  Well it came together OK, I had a reason to wear my $5 dress from H&M+.  Yup this shift dress only cost me $5 and its been in my closet for awhile.  I threw on the dress, but didn't have tights so had to go with some leggings and my patent leather kitten heels.  I added some art deco inspired jewelry with a messy bun and voila! Off to the pageant I went.   We were not allowed to take any pictures during the actual pageant, so only have a few to share.  If your not familiar with the Miss Plus America Pageant you can get more details on their Facebook page here.  Congrats to all the winners!

My Own Cover, I'm So Lucky!

Have you ever wanted to be a cover girl? I don't mean like the make up either.  An actual magazine cover girl.  Well my favorite magazine Lucky is making it happen.  Today on the Lucky Community blog I noticed they have this new cool app.  You can upload your picture on a cover of Lucky Magazine.  Its so cute and cool, easy to to do as well. Once your cover is done you can share it with the world, OK mainly with Facebook and Twitter.  I couldn't help my self and made two different covers, kinda cheesy but so fun!   So if your ready to be a Lucky Magazine cover girl or boy go to this link and create your own.   You can also see other peoples covers, and if you want to be a doll vote for mine so it can be featured.  :)

1. CSF Gets Lucky in 2013

2. In The Big City

I really am tempted to find more pictures and make more covers.  This is such a fun idea!  Which cover do you like #1 or #2?  If you decide to make your own, let me know I would love to see it.  Enjoy!!

Swarovski Elements Magazine for iPad

When it comes to my love of fashion, it involves all aspects, from the clothing, to designers and all things in the industry.  I use to be a fashion magazine whore, yeah you read that right. I love to read fashion magazines and subscribed to all of them.  The bad part of this obsession was I would hoard the magazines for years and years!! It got really bad and my BF had enough he made me get rid of them. :( Well thank goodness for the ipad, because I get all my mags digitally now.  It felt strange to me at first, not holding and flipping those beautiful glossy pages.  Now I can't wait to download the new issues every month.   Digital magazines are actually very cool, they are interactive, have videos and links to purchase items taking you directly to the websites.  Now what can be better than that!

Latest issue #12 of Swarovski Elements Magazine for iPad

When Swarovski Elements contacted me about their new iPad app, for their digital magazine I was excited.  It's a new FREE app for the Swarovski Elements Magaizne for iPad.  The digital magazine is full of insider and behind the scenes info on Swarovski jewelry, designers and brands using the crystals and lots more cool info.  The magazine is visually appealing, has tons of pictures and videos.  It's available monthly when you download the app from iTunes for free.  A must for any one who loves Swarovski jewelry, fashion and magazines.  It's free so really nothing to lose!  You can get the app here (link), just an easy click away.  Also check out the Swarovski Elements Facebook page for updates and other great pictures.  I know you will love it, who can resist all the shiny, sparkly fabulousness of Swarovski!!

Actual screen shots from the Swarovski Elements iPad app. Go download it and enjoy!

Have you made the switch from hard copy to digital magazines?

*This post is my honest and personal opinion of the product, for best results you should always try it out yourself. I was not paid for this post, but was provided an item from Swarovski Elements as compensation.

2013 Resolutions

Hope you all have a wonderful start to 2013!  Its a new year and time for resolutions, but honestly I'm not great about making and keeping new years resolutions for my self.  On the other hand I do want to make some resolutions for the blog.  Last year was not my best blogging year, it started off well, but I had some personal tragedies and changes that made it very difficult to blog.  Its a new year so I want to start off with fresh slate.  If you haven't noticed yet the blog is getting a face lift.  New header for now, just adding a little more me in the mix.  More changes will be made as the month goes on.

Also want to have more giveaways, I know how much we all love free stuff!!  Since CSF will be 4 yrs old this spring, I hope to have some fun stuff for you all, so please make sure you check us out often.  Along with giveaways, CSF will be adding more than just style/fashion, it will remain the main focus but I want to add other topics such as food & travel.  I tried keeping a separate blog where I could write about non-fashiony stuff but honestly its just too much for me to keep up 2 blogs.  So if you all don't mind, expect to see more things covered here on CSF for 2013, all with a touch of style of course! More post on weekly basis as well, and just more fun content overall.  If you ever have an idea or would like me to feature a certain thing or topic, shoot me an email: or you can tweet me @CidStylefile or on the Facebook page here and lastly I have been on instagram lots more so you can find me there too!

Cheers to a New Year and making 2013 even better and greater than last year.

To help make it happen, I decided Alicia Keys "Girl on Fire" is gonna be my new theme song!

Have you made any resolutions for 2013? Whats your theme song for this year? Let me hear it and leave your comments.
