How To Style Wide Calf Boots From Avenue

This is a sponsored post featuring boots from Avenue. All opinions expressed are my own.

There is something about wearing boots that makes me feel like a fashion bad ass!  What is it about knee high boots that just makes me feel cool wearing them?  Not sure what it is, but since I was a little girl I have loved boots.  Every year my parents would buy me a pair of boots, I was always happy wearing my boots. So many pictures of me with boots, I need to find them and share! As I gotten older the love of boots had continued, however finding a pair that fits right has been a challenge. Its been a struggle to find a cute, comfortable wide calf boot...until now I didn't really wear knee high boots. Thanks to Avenue I found a pair of knee high, wide calf boots that fit and look great. Today me and 3 OC bloggers are sharing how to style wide calf boots.

Mad For Plaid - The Fab 40s

This our last Fab 40's collab post of the year, I am so grateful to have met more fashion bloggers over 40. I am very thankful to be able to collaborate with these awesome ladies every month. Hope to bring you more monthly Fab 40's post next year.  So here is Decembers theme chosen by Jennie, Plaid.  As she put it we are MAD for plaid this month. Being the holidays and winter time, plaid is a very appropriate theme. Plaid is a classic and we see variations of it every season.  I my self have been wearing plaid since I was a child. I use to love plaid skirt in my teens, in college I wore more plaid shirts and currently I even have a pair of plaid pants. I really wanted to wear those plaid pants for this theme, but couldn't find them!! Then I found an awesome plaid dress online, when I went to the website to buy it....guess what!  IT SOLD OUT! Ugh this theme should have been easy and I actually struggled a bit to come up with an outfit.

Macy's Celebrates Ugly Sweater Day

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

The holidays are here and what better way to celebrate than with Ugly Sweater Day!  Did you even know there such a thing. Wearing an ugly Christmas sweater use to be a Big NO NO! You know the kind of sweater, the one your grandma would knit for you or mom would buy for you to wear in the family holiday photos. Now ugly Christmas sweaters are popular and actually fun! People have parties to celebrate and wear those ugly sweaters. No need to fuss over what to wear for the holidays, I prefer to be comfy and cozy. So much easier to just wear a fun and festive ugly sweater for the holidays. Maybe you have a work party coming up or a family gathering. An ugly sweater is just the right thing to wear. You will be the hit of the party, or at least you will get tons of smiles and giggles from everyone.

Macy's want you to join in on the fun with an Ugly Sweater Celebration. Come celebrate National Ugly Sweater Day at with a Free event.

Grab your friends and family, put on those ugly sweaters and come join the fun.

Macy's Del Amo Fashion Center is having a free event on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 5pm.

You'll enjoy holiday staples like cocoa and cookies, jingle bell rock, a DIY station and more exciting surprises. Plus, with any qualifying Ugly Sweater or Juniors purchase, snap a photo at our themed booth and receive a photo snow globe!

I'll be there rockin my ugly sweater, and enjoying all the fun. Come party with me, if you don't have an ugly sweater, no worries. Macy's has you covered with many ugly sweaters available.

Hope you see you there!!!

LA Auto Show Day - #UntamedStyle Linkup

My father and oldest brother loved going to the Auto Show every year. I have so many memories of going with them to the LA Auto Show from a very young age. We would spend all day looking at the latest models and sitting in as many cars possible, dreaming of one day owning a brand new shiny car.  My brother and dad are no longer with us, and its been almost 20 years since I last attended an auto show. My BF's sister gave us tickets to attend the final weekend of the Auto Show. We decided to make a day out of it, spending time in Downtown LA and enjoying the Auto Show.  We took the bus from OC to LA, I really wanted to avoid driving to DTLA, I do so much driving all week long for work. Also parking is quite expensive in LA, so for just a few dollars we enjoyed a stress free ride to LA. The day turned out to be rainy and cold, so I was glad not to drive. By the time we arrived in LA the skies had cleared, all that was left was a crisp chill in the air. Perfect weather for a day in downtown LA.

OC Plus Bloggers Meet Up

Over the past 7 years since I started blogging, I've met many other bloggers. Mostly at events and conferences. Some have been local, living in the same state of just a few cities over. A few I became friendly with and would interact with online via social media.  Recently I met a group of bloggers who live in the same county and are also plus fashion bloggers. We formed a group on Facebook and decide to meet up just for fun. First meet up was in September to get to know each other and talk about our blogs and goals. We all hit it off and decided to have more meet ups. Its so refreshing to meet blogger you can relate to and connect with. This is what I was needing in my life, I came seriously close to quitting my blog at the beginning of the year. You can read about it here.  I decided to it stick out one more year and see how I can grow the blog and evolve.  Meeting bloggers who are local in the same niche and have similar goals has helped and given me new ideas and inspiration for the blog.

90's Grunge - The Fab 40's

The end of the month is turing out to be my favorite to blog.  This is the time I collaborate with 7 other fashion bloggers for The Fab 40's post.  Each month 8 bloggers from around the world create a look based on monthly themes.  We are all fashion bloggers who are 40+, and rocking it with our style.  This months theme has been my favorite since I started participating earlier this year.  If you haven't guessed it yet from my picture...this month we are doing 90's Grunge. Oh how I love this theme, this was my style in the 90's.  I was in my late teens, early 20's when grunge was in its prime.  Grunge music was my scene, and I love it all from the style to the music and attitude. I was the moody teen, who listen to alternative rock and wore all black.  I was the girl who didn't fit into any particular group in school.  I was the girl who wanted to be different and not go with the crowd. Grunge music and style just seemed like a perfect fit for me.

Living In Gratitude - #UntamedStyle Linkup

Earlier this year I decided to make some changes in my life, nothing that would be noticeable right away. I didn't lose weight, I didn't change my hair or appearance.  I haven't moved or changed jobs, nothing anyone would be able to tell a difference.  The changes have been internal, mental and emotional.  These changes have been a long time coming and were very much needed for my soul. The one major change was I started to live in gratitude, being mindful of everything in my life. Doesn't seem like a big change, but for me it has been huge. I always thought of my self as optimistic and a cheerful person, but I wasn't really being authentic. Changes needed to be made and I realized it was up to me to set the path for change.  I noticed my self feeling unmotivated, not truly being happy with my self or life. Not because my life was awful or bad in any way, but because I was dissatisfied in my self.

Budget Travel To San Francisco - #UntamedStyle Linkup

budget travel, san francisco, megabus, traveling, golden gate bridge, city bus tour, travel tips,

Traveling is one of life's greats adventures and every one needs to do as much as possible in this lifetime. First thing that comes to mind when talking about traveling is money. Most people will say you need a lot of money to travel. It's too expensive and traveling is only for rich people.  Wrong!!! Anyone can travel, it's for everyone! With some planning and budgeting we can all enjoy traveling. You don't have to travel far from home either to enjoy a vacation or getaway.  I think most people think you need to travel far across the world, you can if you have the means.  However so many of us do not really explore our own cities and states.  You can have a marvelous vacation and getaway with in your own state. I recently took a very affordable and budget friendly trip to San Francisco, California. Just a few hours away by bus up to Northern California.  I want to share you with you some tips on how to enjoy traveling on a budget with out sacrificing anything.

I'm excited to feature another look for the Fab 40's challenge.  Every month a group of fabulous fashion bloggers over 40 team up to do our own interpretation of a style theme.  This month Ann of Kremb De La Kremb chose preppy for October. OK I know you're thinking, its actually November 1st today. I was out of town for a few days and wasn't able to post on Monday, our designated day. Well I didn't want to miss out on this months fun preppy theme, so here I am a day late. Here is my interpretation of a preppy fall look.

Playing In Plaid - #UntamedStyle Linkup

Feels good to be back with a real outfit post to share with you this week. I am trying to be more prepared and plan ahead, you know like a real good blogger would do. Being consistent with blogging has been my weakness since I first started blogging 7 years ago. As much I love blogging and sharing with readers, its just not realistic for me to blog daily. I tried blogging 2-3x a week and was doing OK for a while, then you know life happens. Once a week seems to be what works best for my schedule, and even then I struggle at times. Well I will sure try to keep this weekly schedule of posting on Fridays for the #UntamedStyle Linkup. You may see other occasional post here and there for special collabs or other fun things I may blog about. For now I hope you are enjoying these weekly linkup post and join me every Friday for lots of fashion, beauty and lifestyle post.

Breaking Rules - #UntamedStyle Linkup

In the words of Britney Spears..."Oops I did it again."  Yes I did it again, failed to post a link up on Friday. No #UntamedStyle Link Up and no outfit to share either. Lately my work outfits haven't been anything special or even cute.  When the weather is 90+ degrees in the fall what do you even wear.  I don't want to still be wearing summer clothes.  Mother Nature is messing with my style mojo and it's affecting my mood.
